Questions

What is SimilarSounds?

A free tool for DJs. Paste a track and it finds new house music that sounds like it and mixes with it, newest releases first.

How does it decide what mixes?

Every track is analysed for its sound, musical key (shown in Camelot, like 8A), BPM and energy. Matches are ranked by how close they sound, then checked for key, tempo and energy so you can see at a glance what will blend.

What can I paste in?

A YouTube, SoundCloud, Beatport, Bandcamp or Deezer link, or just start typing an artist and pick the track from the list.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Yes, it's free and has no ads. You get 3 free searches without an account, and a free account adds 2 more and keeps your set and recent searches on every device. Free searches refresh every 24 hours.

Why only house music?

Doing one genre properly beats doing everything badly. Every track in the catalogue is house - House, Deep House, Tech House, Minimal / Deep Tech and Funky / Disco House - so matches stay usable in a house set.

How accurate are the key and BPM?

They're worked out automatically from 30-second previews, so they're good estimates rather than guarantees. Always trust your ears before you mix.

Can I download the tracks?

No. SimilarSounds doesn't host or sell music. Each match links to Beatport, Traxsource, Bandcamp, SoundCloud and YouTube so you can buy or stream it from the artist.

How do I build a set?

Tap Add to set on any track you like, then open Your set. Drag tracks into order or press Smart order. The bar under each track says whether it Mixes well, is Workable or Will clash with the next one: tap it to see why, fix the gap, or load both tracks onto the decks to try the mix yourself. Share the set with a link.
